A Secret Love…

This past summer one of my trailer-mates introduced me to old musicals, the other black and white movies. Now I have a confession to make, one that hurts because I was so very against it. Faith, you’re gonna love this. All weekend I have been watching one show while I have been doing my projects. It stars this man

Raymond Burr

He’s not particularly good looking but he is really good at solving cases as well as being a great lawyer. I don’t understand why Perry Mason can solve 100% of his cases better than Lt. Tragg (homicide detective). Anyways no one my age probably knows this show. But everything is better in black and white, more mysterious, more interesting. Plus the music….man it’s predictable, loud, and dramatic….it’s great. I wonder why actors don’t act as dramatic as they did back then. Yes, it’s ridiculously not how real people act, but it gets it point across better and more entertaining. I love it.

Random side note. I love sayings like “I’m happier than a month full of Sundays.”

Lesson for the weekend

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS save your work every 5 mins. Before you import a photo….BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING…Clearly I made the rookie mistake again for the millionth time. I had worked for a good 3-4 hours on my map and my computer went haywire and shut down, setting my work back that three hours with no way to recover. I know, I don’t know why I went that long without saving probably because I kept working. But the map is back to where it used to be so it’s all good.

I think it’s coming out….Maps are really really really hard work though….I still have to make a back. AHHHH

So this still has a lot of work to do but it’s the front color of my book cover. I like it I think.

I have also did a photography session last week and here are some of the pictures I have edited.

Oh man, this week has started off being really great, and I know it will end being just as if not more. This week I’ve been staying with my really good friend and her family. Yesterday I got a job for the winter holiday season, and this weekend I get to drive down to Illinois to visit one of my best friends, Mykahla! I’m really happy right now God is so good, every time I feel like things are going downhill God steps in. He is powerful and mighty, and I’m glad he’s on my side and is there for me.

Lately I’ve been thinking about Greece,…lately, a lot whatever the terms you would like to use. Anyways I made this as a constant reminder. Feel free to take it if you are as in love with that country as I am.

Someone asked me why I need to pray for Greece, I was astounded that they didn’t know how they are doing over there, then I realized that it makes sense. Greece isn’t in the news very much and it’s not exactly close enough for people to just hear about it. I of course went into a lot of detail while I was telling them about Greece. Pray for Greece. They need our prayers.  It isn’t a country just full of vacation destinations, it is a country full of prideful, lovely people that love their country even though it’s getting tough to live there.

#FamilyCamp2013

SBC’s family camp started last Saturday, which involved hours of sweat for some and tears for others. To be quite honest I am not the biggest fan of Family camp. I think that there are some great things about it but just the plain fact that you work until you are exhausted and the whole week actually feels like a month long is not the best way to live life. This year of course has been different sitting in an office rather than working in the sun (I’m not complaining…I get to sit in air conditioning, and it has been one very humid, hot, intolerable week.) I have had a lot more time to think and a lot of time to get more projects done.

But with all this extra time I get, well….ya know the normal questions that come along “What am I going to do with the rest of my life,”
“Where am I going to be in a year?” ….and “I need…” So I have been trying to figure life after school out. I really have, but all that I know is that I want to be somewhere new, work somewhere I like, and I want to be able to go to a church I like. It’s all a jumble but thankfully I don’t really have to worry about all that. I know it will work out because it always does.

But for my mid term these are what I turned in….I need to work them out still.

So, I have designed my new logo, and my business cards. They are totally me, and I think that even if my professor hates them I will keep them because I like them a whole lot…

It’s Almost Time.

So, as of right now I am in California chillin’ before school starts again (in 19, yes just 19, more days). Whew this summer just FLEW by. This summer has been a summer of growth, change, and love. Not romantic love, as in there are no new loves in my life… that would have made this summer too good to be true. Ha. j/k. I haven’t done much of the art thing…I have drawn and taken photographs but I am sad with the little that I did do.

However, I have been making decorations for my house and because I wanted to post SOMETHING I will post those as well as a drawing I am working on.

 

 

 

So, not the most creative thing in the world but, I’m taking a typography class when I get back to school so that will be nice. Also here is a sneak peak of a portrait I am doing of my little sister.

 

Bad quality, I know.

But that is what is going on right now. Oh, I made logos for my friend to use in her dorms, (She’s a Resident Director at a college) I’ll post those too as well as some summer pics. As for 99designs… I think that I need a bit more time and a bit more cultivating my creativeness.

On a positive note I found out that I LOVE to be organized!! Which is great, but when I don’t have things organized is why I am so messy. Hmmm…. .Nice to know.
